Blogging with another class

I enjoyed blogging with the fifth grade. I think it really gave an idea what level the students were on at this time. It been so long it seems to me that I have been in fifth grade. I have a hard recognizing that although I believed I was grown I wasn't. I aslo enjoyed conversations with them. I think that this was a great learning experience for us as well as them, maybe more on my side.

quick recall of basic addition facts with sums to 10 and corresponding subtraction facts.

model and solve 2-digit addition and subtraction without regrouping.

I like this scratch it is good because it teaches lab safety rules I would love to use this as a reinforcement. I enjoyed this it seems very simple but you have to pay attention use langauge skills and know your lab rules. They are very simply and on a elementary level. click here

1. What is convergence culture?

Convergence culture is mixing the old with the new media it is big mixture of professional and amatuer mass media

2. What are the implications of convergence culture for education?

Convergent culture could be good or bad when dealing with education there is so much information out there that in a school setting is inapproiate. The effects are a smarter youth and sometimes a mislead youth.
3.How are schools limiting kids' access to digital tools? Do you agree with these policies? Why or Why not?

I think kid should be limited to acceess digital tool through parental controls, web site block or anything else. While social media isn't all wrong there are several instances where it has been the cause of bullying. I believe that in this age most kids spend to much time in front of computer screens and tvs and should be up playing escpecially at the elementary level.

About Webquest

Collectively, we decided that webquests are an intriguing and resourceful tool. The majority of or group thought that Creative Encounters was the best webquest. It was extremely descriptive and provided applications that provoked critical thinking. The group agreed that Creative Encounters was great because of the group collaboration involved in solving the problems. A close second would have to be the one on John Wilkes Booth. This webquest promoted creativity and was very task- oriented.The one that we decided was the worst webquest was the one for Ancient Egypt. The site contained links that weren't working properly and the domain had expired. Because site administrators failed to update the links the site provided a detour. It gave a lot of information on more than one topic making it more difficult for the student to stay on task.
